On April 30th, local time in Ghana, the Shandong Dejian-China Railway Major Bridge Engineering JV and the Ministry of Food and Agriculture of Ghana signed a commercial contract for 1,100 sets of solar powered milling plants and 300 sets of drinking water system with a total contract value of US$140 million. The contract period is 2 years. This project is located in the rural areas of Ghana and aims to improve food processing equipment in Ghana, comprehensively improve the capacity of agricultural processing in Ghana, ensure food supply and food security, and use solar power to provide water to remote areas of Ghana.
Representatives attending the signing ceremony were Mr. Akoto, Minister of Food and Agriculture of the Republic of Ghana, Deputy Manager General of Shandong Dejian International Economic and Technical Cooperation Co., Ltd., and representative of the China Railway Major Bridge Engineering in Ghana, the technical adviser and relevant officials of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture of Ghana. The signing of the contract is another major breakthrough in the African market, especially in the West African market, following the Zambia Solar Powered Milling Plants project and the Malawi Solar Powered Milling Plants project.
Ghana is a large agricultural country in West Africa with a population of more than 30 million. Corn, rice and cassava production are at the forefront of West Africa. Since the contact during the China-Africa Summit in Beijing with the Ghana Ministry of Food and Agriculture in September 2018, under the correct guidance of the holding company, according to the actual situation in Ghana, the research team has conducted a two-month investigation and signed an Mou at the end of 2018. Collapse with China Railway Major Bridge Engineering formed a consortium, with the influence of the Major Bridge in the Ghana market and financing platform, Dejian played a mature technical advantage in the application of solar energy equipment, the two parties joined forces and complement each other, after arduous negotiations, then successfully signed a commercial contract. The following step will be to promote fund landing and project implementation as soon as possible. The signing of the contract marks that both parties will give full play to their respective advantages and carry out all-dimensional cooperation. According to the contract, Shandong Dejian-China Railway Major Bridge Engineering will provide a full range of services and support for the new grain processing and related projects of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture of Ghana in the module of EPC contracting. Shandong-MEBC will refer to the requirements of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture of Ghana in terms of engineering standards, equipment selection, construction schedule, delivery conditions, cost control and other aspects to ensure that the project requirements are met. The two sides will help the Ghana Ministry of Agriculture to comprehensively improve the level of food processing and drinking water in remote rural areas in terms of engineering, technology, market and resource integration.
The signing of this project is another successful cooperation between Dejian International and the State-Owned enterprises to jointly develop the market. It is a major breakthrough for Dejian International in the past few years to expand the dual-track business model of borrowing ships to sea and shipbuilding.
